About
Everyone has a story.
A story about your relationship with food and your body.
I grew up living in the country in the mid-west learning to garden and take care of animals and was involved in 4-H. I had a great childhood. However, in high school, I got more involved in sports and considered myself a good athlete, but I also always wanted to be better and put a lot of pressure on myself. After having a friend who developed an eating disorder, I started to get curious and started restricting my food intake to lose weight, which, in reality, I didn’t need to do. I eventually went to therapy and met my first dietitian (who I really liked and learned a lot from:). Fast forward to college and I decided I wanted to study abroad and visit my high school exchange sister in Austria. I knew I had to be healthy in order to be able to go. Traveling abroad was one of the best things for me to heal my relationship with food and my body. I discovered and experienced a whole new food and diet culture. One that doesn’t obsess about food or calories and one that embraces food and the body for what it can do, not for what you think it should look like. It was truly an amazing time in my life and I am forever grateful. Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of settings as a dietitian, however I’ve discovered after working with so many clients that my passion is to help other women rediscover a healthy relationship with food and their body through a lens of curiosity, not judgement, using the self-care framework of Intuitive Eating.
… So, what’s your story? I’d love to hear.Â

My Beliefs
- I believe our current diet culture highjacks people of their own intuitive wisdom when it comes to eating. As children, we inherently know when to eat based on our internal hunger signals and stop when full. Sadly, these cues may have gotten squashed as we got older as we listen to louder outside voices telling us when we should eat, how much we should eat, and how much we should weigh in order to be healthy.
- I believe there are no good or bad foods, and eating should not bring on feelings of guilt or shame, rather pleasure and joy. Recognizing and embracing a well-nourished diet includes a variety, moderation and eating whatever foods you may be craving!
- I believe everyone can and should have a positive relationship with food and that eating should be a fun and pleasurable experience.
- I believe our bodies deserve to be treated with respect and dignity and not be shamed.
- I am an anti-diet dietitian and align with Health at Every Size (HAES) and weight inclusivity.
